Explore materials from the 19th Meeting of the EUROSAI IT Working Group
On 8 September a seminar “Auditing Cyber Resilience in a Changing Geopolitical Landscape” took place and was accessible to all members of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). Approximately 150 participants from almost 60 countries were participating, among them approximately 60 in-person attendees in Budapest, in Hungary.
The programme provided a platform for knowledge exchange among experts representing the public and private sectors, supreme audit institutions (SAIs), and academia. Presenters shared insights, practical experiences, and lessons learned from their respective work in the field. A dedicated panel discussion, entitled “SAI Role in Enhancing Cyber Resilience” further explored the challenges faced by SAIs and other stakeholders when assessing and auditing the cybersecurity ecosystem. The panel discussion was moderated by Mr Kristóf Kovács from the State Audit Office of Hungary, panellists Mr Bernhard Hamberger (the Swiss Federal Audit Office), Mr Mihkel Kukk (KPMG Baltics OÜ) and Mr Sven Dinter (the German Federal Court of Auditors) shared their views.
9 September was planned for the IT Working Group Business Meeting and was reserved for ITWG members and invited guests only. The meeting opened with an address by Mr Janar Holm, Auditor General of Estonia, Chair of EUROSAI ITWG, highlighting ITWG’s ITWG’s achievements. During the day, participants were able to hear about the status on training activities, followed by discussions on the 2027–2030 Work Plan and the status of NIS2 implementation in Europe, including potential cooperation in auditing NIS2. The afternoon session focused on the main IT operational challenges facing SAIs, with a CIO panel discussion featuring representatives from Hungary, Malta, and Slovakia. The day concluded with an overview on synergies with INTOSAI working groups.
