The INTOSAI Working Group on Impact of Science and Technology on Auditing (WGISTA) was established in 2019 by INTOSAI at the International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI). The President of the Supreme Audit Institution UAE is the Chair of INTOSAI's WGISTA and Comptroller General of the United States and head of the U.S. Government Accountability Office is the Vice Chair of the WGISTA. WGISTA supports SAls in understanding the strategic direction of the auditing profession as a result of disruptive technologies and developments in the fields of science and technology and SAIs’ responses to these developments. Some of the key areas of focus of the WGISTA are Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, quantum computing and 5G.
EUROSAI (European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions) is one of the Regional Groups of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI). This Organisation groups together the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of 192 Full Members and 5 Associated Members, and it is listed as a support Organisation of the United Nations. The objectives of the Organisation, defined in article 1 of its Statutes, are to promote professional cooperation among SAI members, to encourage the exchange of information and documentation, to advance the study of public sector audit and to work towards the harmonisation of terminology in the field of public audit. EUROSAI is one of the regional groups of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
The International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) operates as an umbrella organisation for the external government audit community. At present INTOSAI has 192 Full Members and 5 Associated Members. INTOSAI consists of the regional groups EUROSAI, OLACEFS (Latin America), AFROSAI (Africa), ARABOSAI (Arab States), ASOSAI (Asia), SPASAI (South Pacific) and CAROSAI (The Caribbean).
The INTOSAI Standing Committee on IT Audit, founded in 1989, aims to support Supreme Audit Institutions in developing their knowledge and skills in the use and audit of IT by providing information and facilities to enable experiences to be exchanged, and bilateral and regional cooperation to be encouraged.
ARABOSAI is the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions, which is chaired by the General Court of Audit of Saudi Arabia. The Supreme Audit Institute of Tunesia is providing the General Secretariat. ARABOSAI is one of the regional groups of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
