SERBIA: Digitalization of the Audit Procedure in the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia early in 2022

In January 2022, the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia (SAI of Serbia) will introduce a system for automated digital implementation and monitoring of the audit procedure, which will improve the quality and speed up the audit procedure.

With the introduction of the new software, SAI of Serbia will be the first or among the first state authorities to digitalize its procedures from start to end, said Dr. Dusko Pejovic, the President and Auditor-General of SAI.

The final phase is underway regarding the development of software that will enable better and more efficient work of SAI of Serbia. The introduction of the new software for conducting and monitoring the audit procedure will facilitate audit planning, provide a database of all auditees, enable monitoring of audit process, status of recommendations and reports, as well as electronic management of audit documents.

The implementation of this system will contribute to strengthening of mechanisms for controlling public funds spending at more than 11,000 budget users, potential SAI of Serbia’s auditees. The new Audit Management System will enable better control over public funds spending in the Republic of Serbia, in accordance with the highest international standards.
